 What's The Best Gaming Laptop?

Here's a Better Question-What's The Best Way to Buy a Laptop To Give You Great a Great Gaming Experience?

'Best Gaming Laptop' and expensive or synonymous, unless you shop wisely. Gamers love performance. There's nothing worse than while you're playing a game your system locks up and you have to wait for it to catch up. So getting started on the right foot with enough horsepower to drive those hungry games is important. You got a have a computer that can keep up or it just destroys your gaming experience.

Let's start off with some things you need to know before you make that investment in a gaming computer. Let's start from the top down.

  • The screen | there are many sizes of screens available, but one thing to keep in mind you need it least a 15 inch screen. The bigger the screen - the bigger the computer, the harder it is to carry around. One of the most important things about the screen is the quality. It delivers. I would look in the direction of an HD screen, and LED technology.
  • The hard drive | you need a huge hard drive these days, to accommodate the huge gaming files, primarily due to video. I would not consider anything less than 200 GB, in fact, I would look more in the direction of 300 to 400 GB. Also, make sure the hard drive runs at 7200 RPM, Minimum.
  • RAM | random access memory is really important when it comes to games, you don't want your hard drive loading and unloading files trying to keep up with you. From my experience, at 4 GB of RAM your kind of just limping along. I would look at 6 GB or more. If you can afford it, get DDR 3 memory. I truly believe that maxing out your RAM is the best investment you can make.
  • CPU | the central processing unit is another integral part of any laptop. Dual core processors are pretty much the standard for gaming these days. However, there are quad core processors available and although there are many games that require it. There soon will be. So you might consider a quad core, If it's cost effective. One of the most important things with a CPU is the throughput speed. In this area. I would not consider anything less than 2 GHz.
  • Sound | a good quality sound card and speakers is also important to the gaming experience.
  • Video | your laptop video controller will play a big role in your gaming experience. You can have the most RAM, the fastest processor, and the brightest screen, but if your video card can keep up. It's all for naught. This is one area you really don't want to skimp. In my experience and Nvidia makes great video cards. I have had no problems with them whatsoever. In this area, I would recommend 2 GB. And Nvidia also has a technology called SLI , it has the power of two video cards running at the same time. There are many games on the market today that take advantage of the power of a dual video card, but you can bet they're on their way.

What I recommend doing to find the very best deal on your gaming laptop is to shop gaming laptops. I didn't say by a gaming laptop. I said shop them. You will find that when the manufacturer puts the new label gaming laptop on it, it gets expensive. When you shop them, right down the specs on all the items that I listed above. Then go out and shop computers that aren't labeled gaming laptop. Most manufacturers have a build your own computer interface, that you can add and subtract features. I think that doing it this way in building your own computer by adding features, you will find you will save a lot of money.
